How to Place / Locate Metatarsal Pad
I use both Pedag T-Form and Pedag Drop (1) functions with footwear that has removable insole (2) can be installed / positioned above or below the footwear insole, dependent on user preference (3) I use a self-tailored fastener (cut, trimmed, and rolled, adhesive side out) piece of duct-tape, under the Pad, to temporarily position and secure the Pad. ( 3a) Tip / Top of Metatarsal Pad should extend marginally above the geometric plane at the base of the big-toe metatarsal capsule, extending horizontally across the ball of foot. Shouldn't be behind, and not directly under the metatarsal capsule (4) Once satisfied with the location of the Pad, I outline the position with magic marker, then I remove the tailored duct-tape fastener, and then I apply duct-tape over the Pedag metatarsal pad, to ensure it remains in desired position (5) effective aid to relieve pain associated with metatarsalgia (5) I developed metatarsalgia (second toe ) and upon installing the pad, experienced immediate relief, and resumed hiking and walking the dogs. (6) But, the Pad isn't a panacea - metatarsalgia can require reduced stress on foot, i.e., reduced activity ( I terminated jogging for 3 months ) - (7) the use of a metatarsal pad and insole with proper arch support, worn a majority of the day. (7) I placed in all my footwear (8) I installed it in a pair of old jogging shoes that i washed and cleaned, to be worn exclusively in the house ( I don't wear footwear in the house, but for this one exception ) (9) I purchased Pedag insoles - with built in metatarsal pads - for other footwear, to obviate the need to constantly remove insoles with metatarsal pads from one pair of footwear and insert in a different pair. I like the Viva Sport as it fits in both jogging footwear and casual footwear. I also use the Viva Outdoor in my hiking Boots. (10) Pedag T-Form was more comfortable for my feet than the Pedag Drop, ( but my feet adjusted and I use both pads effectively ) Seeking professional medical care is recommended, as the first response to any medical issue; in context to this review - a licensed , Podiatrist, and / or a Primary Care Physician.

Ahhhh!
What most orthotics lack is metatarsal support and these Pedag T-form adhesive pads fix the problem fast! I recommend standing on your orthotic (out of the shoe) and experiment with placement of the pads before adhering them to the orthotic. Overall, I am very happy with the product and the quick comfort fix they offer.

I believe they are helping heal my plantar fasciitis
Iโm using these pads to allow my feet to strengthen and heal my plantar fasciitis according to the conservative care treatment recommendations of Dr. Ray McClanahan. They felt so funky at first but I really believe they are helping along with wide toe box zero drop shoes, foot spacers, massage, strengthening, etc. Iโve had PF for 11 months, but have only been implementing the above over the last 4 months. In the past my feet would start to feel better but then Iโd do too much activity and Iโd have to pull back for a day or two. Let me tell you, these pads really help. I walked/hiked 24 miles over 4 days last weekend and while I had some pain due to increased movement, I recovered much quicker and barely had any pain the next morning. If you know, you know thatโs HUGE and a sign of major improvement. Good luck!

Yes yes yes
I've been thru several different companies and versions of metatarsal pads, and these are the best so far. Adhere well and totally support the area. I'm repurchasing.

Did not work for me
Love Pedaq Holiday inserts. These were too high (and I have a high arch) and too hard - very uncomfortable for me. Made my feet hurt for a couple days. Had to remove them. May worn for someone elseโs foot.

Life changing
Absolutely changed my life. I could no longer hike or even walk due to severe inflammation in my metatarsal area. I was depressed and getting out of shape quickly because being outdoors is so life affirming. I tried an elliptical and a treadmill but they irritated the metatarsal as well so I had to swim or bike. After several months, a friend recommended these and the other Pedag design called DROP. I bought both to experiment and I use both because the DROP design seems more suited to my regular shoes while this T-Form design works best in my hiking and cross fit shoes. I am back to my healthy routine and so grateful to my friend and Pedag. Life changing is Not an exaggeration.

Great when placed properly in your shoes.
I put these along the outer edge of the insole the shoes come with and below the metatarsal heads. The tissue there then moves up and lifts the heads of the metatarsal, heads helping to prevent the dreaded hammertoes. If I then walk correctly what a difference it makes. I do use the inijinji toe socks also, and sometimes correct toes. Happy feet when toes splay properly.

These work great - relieved my foot pain that had me unable to walk without limping. Was sent the wrong item initially but after contacting the seller, got the correct product in a few days. Impressive customer service.

Good quality
Didn't really do anything for me, but I suspect that has more to do with my foot than the pads themselves. They are a good size and cushy but firm.
