CTA Tools 7630 - Crank Socket - Compatible with Subaru

Bought this at mrsubaru's recommendation and I concur: this is really handy. I thought that a short segment of the woodruff key wouldn't be enough but it is. Never gonna go back to using the crankshaft bolt and having to untighten it after turning the engine iver especially after confirming the timing belt alignment. Pricey for a socket but having the right tool is worth it.

Perfect fit for Subaru Forester 2001 automatic. While having one of these isn’t 100 percent necessary to change your timing belt it did make rotating the engine a little easier and safer.

1997 Subaru Imprezza Sport 2.2 L that this tool worked so well on rotating the crankshaft anytime you replace a timing belt or if you have to go deeper into the engine. I replaced oil pump and water pump plus the camshaft seals.

It is fine construction and will work with most 4 cylinder Subaru engines. It does not work with the 6 cylinder engines.

Stays on the crank key the whole time whenever I turn the motor.

Good strong socket. Fits all the Subaru crankshafts on engines that use a timing belt. However, this does not fit the newer chain engines.
