Doubled Receiving Range
For anyone wondering. YES THIS MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE. hopefully i save you money from mixed reviews that i had to deal with. I did testing while driving around. I am using a baofeng bf-f8hp. I been using the nagoya 771. When using the abbree 48inch my range is DOUBLED with antenna fully closed! Mind you it is ridiculous when fully extended but for long range and emergency needs. Nothing can compare with range nor price. BUY IT

Works good and good quality.
It's a bit nicer than expected. Good accessory for my radio.

Remarkable design.
I got this antenna for my grandson who is prepping for his Technician's license. He has a 5 watt HT transceiver and when he gets his license he will be ready to go. I have the exact antenna on my 8 watt HT, and I already know how good it is. I can hit a repeater I use often that is 25 miles away with it, the stock one will barely open the repeater. ABBREE Antennas work great, and are functional far more than most antennas out there. Just make sure you order a "Real" one, there are counterfeit out there. Also, I always use a BNC connector to make sure I can change back and forth as required, so I don't damage the radio connector, those are fragile and are not made to be swapping antennas back and forth.

Not much better than stock antenna for uv5r.
I bought it to increase the range to pick up far away repeaters. It didn't really do that. It seems the standard stock antenna gave a slightly clearer signal.

swept the antenna and it is tuned for 2 meters and 70cm ham band Works very well but is BIG
I have several Abbree antennas and the longer ones are better. This works best for meI've swept it with my Rigexpert antenna analyzer and it is tuned for the 2 meter and 70cm ham bands and works great. The 2 meter sweep was 1.3 to 1 and the 70cm was 1.4 to 1. In real life tests range is substantial increased with this larger antenna, but it is BIG and heavy duty.I use it with my 2 AR-152 HT's.They are in fact made with a "tape-measure" look them up on youtube.

48 inch antenna
I mean you could make this thing pretty easily its just measuring tape and shrink wrap and a diode or something with a coil at the base. This is not a review telling you how practical this antenna is obviously I think it should be if I purchased it.First it seems that for the size 48" the efficiency gained is not much over the shorter antenna in the series once you get past 15 inches their seems to be a loss of efficiency to size how ever the biggest one is the most powerful one possibly even on the market for a Baofeng handheld it is just not that much better than the one before it in the line up. Their seems to be a sweet spot with these. The receive didn't seem as strong as the transmit on mine more on that bellow.I had some interesting results on, this I noticed is it received better lying on its side probably due to length...?? It did have a powerful transmit. The antenna is trash folded because the base is tuned for 48 inches. If you want to use it folded to have to buy the 15 inch and swap out the base but then the base is not tuned for the antenna to be fully extended. They need to offer a "Base / coil pack" for the longer antennas... If I could had used the radio with the antenna folded aka in my truck I would had probably kept the antenna. If they offered a pack of bases i would had bought them but the way it is now to use the large antenna you have to buy every antenna from 15 inches (smallest folded length) up to 48 to be able to use it in multiple configurations... And that same problem will plague every size of antenna in the line up. They really need a base pack and sell each antenna as singe or multi config and include the extra bases in the multi config option properly labeled of course. That's it I settled on a 15 inch from another brand because it ranked some where between the 15 inch and the 48" from ABBREE and I could receive with the antenna / radio virticle and it also fit in the cabin of my vehicle. To be clear the 15 inch I chose matches or slightly exceeds the capability of the 15 inch from this company but does not fold.

Very narrow usable frequency
This is for the 48in Abree antenna. The SWR goes up very quickly if you deviate more then 10-20mhz from the claimed 144mhz and 430mhz. At 440mhz and 410mhz I had an SWR of about 2.01 and at 460mhz it was more than 5. I don't recommend. I got this only for the joke of having a 48in on my ht.
