The lunchbox holds up well. It's durable, and the lid makes a reliable seal. It is a little difficult to remove the lid. With the release valve open, I still have to press it against my body to pry it open, but that's the trade-off of having an excellent seal. The paint does flake off over time with everyday use. Putting in the dishwasher would probably ruin the paint faster, so I always hand-wash it. I don't mind the paint too much; fortunately, it's only painted on the outside, and unpainted on the inside. The divider is a nice touch; it keeps dry items separated. Liquids can still mix between compartments, but it's not a big deal for me. It's a good quality, stainless steel, airtight lunchbox.

This is the third Bentgo box I've tried in my mission to find a lunchbox for my son and his summer adventures. The first one I got was the Chill and while I like the integrated icepack and overall functionality, it just wasn't big enough for my 9 yo's lunch needs. Next I tried the Modern, which looks great and packs a decent amount of food, but it leaked easily and the exterior dimensions were quite large.This one is almost perfect. It's got a good interior capacity, and the moveable divider makes it easy to pack one big item, two medium, or anything in between. The divider doesn't make it leak-proof inside, from one compartment to another, but the lid seals the whole thing with a surprisingly tight seal. My only real problem is that the divider is not secured in the container, so it may shift around if the contents are heavy and jostled. While the container is not insulated, I found a cheap insulated bag that can also fit an ice pack when needed, and it fits perfectly. What I'm particularly keen on is the fact that it is metal and yet microwavable. That might not be something my son needs now, but maybe in the future it'll be useful for him. And it's very useful for me, which is why I'm keeping this one for myself, and probably ordering a couple more for the family.

I bought both the black and rose gold versions of this for storing dinner leftovers. It is a great design for keeping different things separate at home (like rice and veggies). I never microwaved my leftovers in it, though the product description and review from Wirecutter claim it is microwave safe.My daughter liked it so much, she started using it for her lunch each day instead of plastic bags (things like PB&J sandwich and carrot slices). Unfortunately, that is where this failed us. The rose gold and black film started peeling off almost immediately when it was used and washed daily. It leaves rose gold and black film everywhere. Skip the colors and get one that is just stainless.

absolutely love these bento containers! would buy them all if i can afford it! they are pricy, but very durable and easy to use. my husband uses these bento boxes for his lunch and its easy to clean and stores a good amount of food. the top closes pretty tight and sometimes can be difficult to open. easy to stack in his lunch pack. would highly recommend! only this is wish this was cheaper and came with two separaters, so we can buy more, but it is worth the value.

Overall good but too big for me and hard to clean when I put oily food in, a little hard to open for hot food

I love this thing. Never ever leaks. I use the whole compartment for a daily salad. Put the ingredients in the AM. Then when I’m ready to eat I toss a can of Matiz sardines in there, smother it in dressing and olive oil, close the lid and shake it up! A perfectly dressed salad is the result. The little separator thingy is not really necessary, but I don’t use it because it doesn’t really separate the food. Like if you put yoghurt for breakfast in one side, and salad for lunch on the other side, it will leak yoghurt juice into the salad. Or vice versa, into the yoghurt with sardine oil and juice. So I bought the smaller micro steel series for my yogurt!Amazing that if I wanted to bring a different item for lunch, one that required microwaving, I could have that too! But I typically avoid hot foods at lunch. This thing is amazing!

I have tried quite a couple of different bento lunch boxes and none have come close to what the BentGo MicroSteel Lunch Box offers!It's slim enough to pack into most insulated lunch boxes. The metal material is as thin as possible while providing great heat or cold transfer from whatever you are storing or heating with. It's super easy to clean with the removal divider. It allows for adjustment of the compartment spaces due to the moveable divider. It prevent leaking from one section to another due to the shape of the divider. And it does a great job of sealing out any moisture!If that is not enough, their customer support team is great. I have asked a question and on the next day they have provided me with great feedback.As a contractor who is mostly eating in his truck, I really appreciate the attention to detail and quality in keeping my food fresh and in the temperature I hope for.I recommend their portable utensils to complement the lunch box.
