Provides good protection to shins while tree trimming
The guards fit well and provide the needed protection to my shins. However, on the first use one of the straps failed. The stitching holding it failed. I will have to repair these and possibly reinforce all the others.

Cheap, low quality
The plastic protective shell for the shin is made of the very thinnest material, and barely single stitched around its perimeter. Two of the leg straps were too short and the others barely long enough. I have an average calf measurement and, overall, middle-range leg size, but two of the straps were tight and uncomfortably pressing in after only a few minutes. They could easily and for really no extra cost have made the straps longer in order to fit mine and other leg measurements. From the category of STRANGE, these things reeked of fish odor when new and just out of the package, as if they had been packed and shipped with a fish head strapped to them. Maybe that is some kind of purposeful chemical treatment, but it was the worst smelling new product I can ever remember buying. Cheaply Made in China should say it all, and what a sad product to carry the Oregon name.

Excellent product
I purchased these for my husband, he's a gardener and at this time of year is always cutting back bushes and getting his legs scratched and cut. Being type 1 diabetic, this can be worrying. I was looking around for shin guards and came across these which are specially designed for his job. To say he's delighted with is an understatement,, after 5 minutes on he forgets they're there and can comfortably wear them for an 8 hour shift. Best of all the cuts that were on his legs have completely healed. The come up to cover the knee and bend there for flexibility. The straps keep them securely in place all day and don't rub. A few of his colleagues have asked where he got them and they're planning on buying them too. These are men who are 25 years plus in the job so that shows how good they are. Well worth buying.

potentially saved my life!
i used this for rollerblading/skating and i fell over today while wearing it. heres the story, i was doing a t stop and lost control and began to glide forwards at extreme speed headed towards traffic, i looked round hopelessly.. then i looked down at the armour.. here goes nothing!. i sprung forward landing on my knees.. the impact was so cushioned i bounced up like a lunatic! haha. i expected for my legs to be just as hurt as my hands but when i went to check..spotless.. my knees/legs were absolutely fine thanks to these. mind you i was going down a steep hill wich was leading to traffic saved me a trip to A&E LOL

Comfortable
I'm using these for strimming and general tasks that involve kneeling. They are brilliant!Wearing them over trousers they fit well (I'm 5 ft 11 inches) and the straps can be adjusted for different leg circumferences. They are foam backed so will make your legs a little warm, especially if you're not wearing them over trousers, however the extra warmth is nice on a cold day. They are so comfortable that I drove home with them on today and didn't even know they were there. As the description states they are not chainsaw proof, but fine for most other things. Do your poor legs a favour and buy them today.

No more scared shins.
Strimming even in long trousers/jeans can be a painful experience, but in summer and shorts its eye watering and the shins look a mess of blood and scratches. These shin guards are just perfect, easy to fit (even on my chubby legs), lightweight and boy they do what it says on the packet. Just brush off when you have finished strimming and an added bonus is less stour in/on your socks! These shin guards are a weed wackers delight.
