Soft leather with a really nice feel to it. I am really happy with this purchase.This journal was a quality product and definitely value for money and the customer service was excellent. I bought this as a present for a friend. I thought it was a bit pricey but I am so satisfied with it. The quality is beautiful! The leather is really soft and has the lovely authentic smell. Quality of the paper is really good too. Nicely packaged in its own box. I don't want to give it away!

This is a very good, solidly constructed notebook. It looks like it will take a fair amount of heavy usage from stuffing in bags, etc. I like its rustic handmade look, and its feel of "comfortable solidity". The pages fall open readily, which really matters in a bound notebook, but it still feels that it will hold together well. The cream paper is probably an acquired taste, but I acquired it very easily. It is a bit like writing on bank-notes, but the paper is strong and of a good thickness. I am a fountain pen user and I have found the paper works well with all of the pens I've tried, although it doesn't get the best out of all the nibs. It definitely works with all of them, it's just a matter of taste and how heavy you want your up-strokes to be. It works with gel pens too. No discernible bleed into the paper or show-through on the other side. Before purchasing I spent a lot of time looking at a wide range of note-books. This one is practical and has immense character. It's a tough companion for all those ideas that crop up in the day, or night. It's a good size, as many I looked at were significantly larger (harder to pack), or much smaller, which made them appear very thick. I would buy another, when the time comes.

It's exactly how it looks, lovely brown colour with 3 inserts with cream paper, lined, squared and plain. The other included items are of good quality. The leather is soft and the notebook is very nicely finished with metal toggles on the elastic. This is my first travelers notebook and I love it.
