'The Yul' resume his role as the master bandit, Sabata, in this cult Spaghetti western sequel.

In fact I think this is the best one.
Now before you jump down my throat you should know that I'm a Van Cleef fan. I bought the original "Sabata" and "Return of Sabata" because LVC was in it. I bought this one to complete the set, even though I expected to hate Yul Brynner's intrusion into LVC territory!Well, the plain truth as I see it is that, in terms of production quality, IMHO this is the best of the three. It was a fun romp with good use made of the Almeria scenery and some lovely touches of direction (for example the thrown dagger through the portait, which then cuts the portait in two as it follows the unseen victim falling behind it. I also detected subtle homages to other spaghetti westerns, for example the closing music cutting in just as the 2nd lead was about to scream a parting curse at the lead - a la the ending of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly".Speaking of which, the music was quite good, recalling the original Sabata theme in fresh ways (music by Bruno Nicolai).Yul Brynner wasn't bad in the part, though his shirt open to the navel irritated me a tad: he just needed a big gold medallion to scream "70s!".So, while I'm sure that LVC would have been just as good in this role, in all honesty I can't discount the movie just because he was absent.

It's the one with the ball bearings !!
This is a very odd spaghetti western with a strange history.Bryner did not want to make a magnificent seven sequel and signed up to do a film called Indio Black.Van Cleef didn't want to do another Sabata film and signed up to play Bryner's part in the magnificent seven sequel. The producers then renamed Indio Black to Adios Sabata.Onto the film itself.Bryner's gun is one of the oddest I've seen - a small rifle with a magazine that looks like a harmonica that is pushed horizontally and the last chamber contains his cigar. One guy uses metal balls that he drops into a groove in the top of his shoe then kicks it with lethal accuracy at his opponentsA model battleship that is not all it seemsAustrians - loads of themPlot wise not exactly original - the theft of gold - but great fun

Pegasus Entertainment - You have been warned. Don't rent.
Film is excellent but the picture quality of DVD supplied is atrocious. It looks like a 10th generation VHS copy. NB - this is the Pegasus Entertainment version and not the superior MGM DVD. I really can't understand why the MGM DVD is not being rented out. The Pegasus one has only one place and that is in the rubbish bin. AVOID.

Mexican western
Once again Yul Brynner dominates a film. This film is fun, exciting and extremely watchable. This film does contain some actors, who at times, were a bit off the mark however they do not spoil the enjoyment of the film.

The bad dubbing is the problem
The bad dubbing is the problem, in some places so out of sync that it spoils enjoyment of the film.

VERA CRUZ STYLE SPAGHETTI

FILM OTTIMO, OTTIMA QUALITà DELLE IMAGINI, MA NON C'è ASSOLUTAMENTE LA LINGUA ITALIANA COME RIPORTATO DALLA DESCRIZIONE DEL PRODOTTO!!!! VERAMENTE UN PECCATO, PERCHè QUI IN ITALIA LA VERSIONE IN DVD NON è BUONA COME QUESTA.
